The elegance of the Past Present and Future ( 3 stone ) jewelry was originated some time ago, perchance around the year 1999. This just didn't happen to be by chance event. As a matter of fact at the same time in history was a huge slump in the diamond retail jewelry market. Diamond jewelry gross sales were down, way down. It has been speculated sales of diamonds and diamond jewelry may have been at an all time low.
That's when the famous DeBeers company stepped in the picture. As you may or may not know DeBeers is a diamond brokerage house, that started in the late 1800's. It has been said that DeBeers is so Herculean it controls the fluctuation of about 90% or more of all the diamonds in the world.
Since diamonds are DeBeers main trade they needed to do something different and tantalizingbolddaring to jump the sales of the slumping diamond retail jewelry market. So they got their favorite people and put their brains together and came up with a wondrous marketing plan. This incredible marketing plan included the well known romantic story of Past Present and Future, in hopes consumers would own more diamonds and diamond jewelry - and it worked .
What started out as a new design for an anniversary ring, evolved into other forms of diamond jewelry like Past Present Future Necklaces, earrings and bracelets. Then in a very short period of time it became a gift for many other occasions, Birthdays, Christmas, Valentines Day etc. The concept of the past, present and future became so popular brides to be treasured it as their engagement ring and why not, the story of love and romance was strong and goes something like this... The first diamond represents the lovethat you have for each other in the past. The center diamond represents the love you have for each other in the present. The 3rd diamond represents the blossoming love you'll have for each other in the future. That's why it is called the Past, Present and Future.
And still is now, a very strong and powerful force representing the love and committment man and wife have for each other .
Then the concept of Past Present and Future moved on into the semi precious jewelry community. Unique necklaces, rings, earrings and bracelets are now made with Sapphires, Rubies, Emeralds in the Past Present and Future form.
And now the Past Present Future is made with all kinds of stones, CZ's ( cubic ziconia ), blue topaz, amethyst, and even simple plain plastic dyed beads.
